The Umlaut Cometh

Yes folks it’s that time again. That’s right, The Umlaut draws nigh. This Tuesday September 27th, in the R2 space connected to Rapture, we’ve got DJ and DJ throwing down the tracks so hard it’ll make your feet move, your ears bleed, your Nintendo will work without having to blow into the cartridges, and the dead will rise from their graves. Doors open at 9 PM and close at 2 AM (preferably with you outside them). $6 if you’re under 21, $4 if you’re 21 and older. Here’s the flyer:
Warning…awesomeness lies ahead

Cookin’ Goodness

So yeah, my mom ran my 30th b-day gift by me the other day to make certain she was getting the right one. It takes some of the surprise out of it, but I don’t care. I will soon be the proud owner of a KitchenAid stand mixer (the big one with all the extra attachments and such). My goal is to be 300 pounds and never leave the house by this time next year. I’m kidding! Seriously though, I’m going to be doing a crazy amount of baking this autumn and winter. Fear my ninja cookies.

Birthday Celebration

Yes folks that’s right, the celebration of the birth of the ninja monkey draws nigh. On October 17th, I will be unable to be trusted by Bob Dylan’s standards (translation, I’ll be 30). I am trying to get together a grandiose party the likes of the dawning celebration at ‘s house. I know folks work different schedules and such, so here’s the plan:

Friday October 14th – Party at my house. Bring friends, tell them to bring friends. You know me, everyone is welcome. Bring a bottle of something (or six pack) to share. I’ll provide the food. I’m making meat chili and totally hypoallergenic veggie chili. It’ll be awesome.

Saturday October 15th – Head out to dinner somewhere. Hang out at my house for a bit if anyone likes, then wander on down to the dawning for fun and debauchery. Dance the night away then sleep.

Sunday October 16th – I have no idea…maybe brunch? I can cook for a crowd, so we can resume festivities at my house and then play video games until our eyes bleed.

Monday October 17th (the big day) – I’ll be grabbing dinner with my folks that evening most likely, then afterwards I’ll be heading into Richmond for Sacrosanct. I’m also off from work this day so anyone who isn’t working Monday and wants to come spend time with me on my *actual* birthday is more then welcome.

Tuesday October 18th – I recover from a weekend of heavy partying and sleep *all* day *(’cause I’m off again)

Ah, the sleep I had last night was truly worthy of songs and poems. Sorry I missed the movie last night all, but the call of my bedding was too great to ignore. This morning began with yoga stretches, kung-fu forms, coffee, eggs, and BACON! Yes, you heard me right…I ate the other white meat with my eggs, and it was good.

Tonight, mi hermano is in town for a little R&R. We’ll probably be down at Miller’s later tonight for various and sundry drunken debauchery if anyone wants to swing by and imbibe with us.

Some time this week I want to have another wine, cheese, fruit, tea, and philosophy get together at my house. Anyone up for it, and what evenings are you free?
